Single stage is typically used when minor fluctuations in outlet pressure are acceptable for the process being fed by gas, these small fluctuations are typically caused by peaks in gas usage or depleting compressed gas contents in a cylinder.  For processes where a consistent outlet pressure is required with no fluctuation is accepted a two stage or balanced regulator would be more appropriate.

A diaphragm is used in regulators which can achieve a total outlet pressure of 10bar, if you require a regulator which needs to provide an outlet pressure of over 10bar you would need to use a piston regulator.

A balanced regulator is designed with a link port between the inlet and the outlet, this is used to maintain a consistent outlet pressure even during spikes of gas usage or gas cylinder content depletion when the inlet pressure fluctuates.

es, liquid vapour cylinder bottles (such as CO2) will maintain a consistent outlet / delivery pressure throughout their lifespan, once the liquid at the bottom of a cylinder depletes entirely the cylinder contents will rapid decrease until there is no liquid vapour left to supply your regulator or control panel. Compressed gas cylinders contents will deplete in a linear fashion, meaning that as the gas inside a compressed gas cylinder is used you will notice a reduction in inlet pressure supplied to your regulator or control panel.

Within the harmonised range Tech Master products are manufactured out of brass, providing a purity grade of N4.5 (99.995% purity in the gas stream) and are used for non-corrosive and toxic processes. Lab Master products are manufactured out of nickel plated brass, providing a purity grade of N5.0 (99.999% purity in the gas stream) and are used for non-corrosive and toxic gas processes. Spec Master products are manufactured out of nickel plated brass with the internal components (wetted parts) using higher purity grade material, providing a purity grade of N6.0 (99.9999% purity in the gas stream) and are used for non-corrosive and toxic gas processes. Chem Master products are manufactured out of 316L stainless steel, providing a purity grade of N6.0 (99.9999% purity in the gas stream) and are used for both corrosive and toxic gas processes.
